Think about the year that has passed. All the memories, the entries and posts that made the year special. Think about all your past layouts, default icons, mood themes. How about all those conversations you had via comments, or the huge post in ONTD that you spent all night commenting on. The 2008 Scrapbook Post is a way to help you remember all of that, in a single post.

Jan 15 - My birthday! Baked a not-so-beautiful-but-very-tasty birthday cake. Presents included The Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell, a full system of French text and workbooks, and $75 to spend at Best Buy with which I bought Gangs of New York, Stargate Continuum, and Firefly.
Jan 16 - Finally got into the school I've been doing my hardest to get a place in for years.
Jan 27 - First day of classes.
Mar 11 - Adopted Piper, a beautiful, happy, nine-year-old retired brindle greyhound.
Apr 05 - Piper's tenth birthday.
May 07 - My older sister Jenny's 36th birthday.
May 16 - Nova's fundraising auction. Spent the night in Chandra's backyard with six other friends and stayed up talking all night with Tony.
May 18 - Asked Tony out to the movies. He said yes after some deliberation; he already had planned on going out with someone else, but chose to see a film with me instead.
May 25 - Saw Terminator: Salvation with Tony on our first date.
Jun 19 - The last day of school before the summer, and Nova's last day in the Mann Building.
Jun 26 - Tony and my second real "date": we eat out at the Mongolian Grill after my plans for a romantic dinner at my house are squashed.
Jun 27 - Taming of the Shrew at the Fremont Troll ("Shakespeare at the Troll"). Ian is thrown a surprise party at Joe's house.
Jun 30 - Xandii is thrown a going-away party at Chandra's house before leaving for the next month.
Jul 03 - Tony makes me a "romantic dinner" at his house.
Jul 04 - Introduced to some of Tony's family at their 4th of July family gathering.
Jul 12 - Went to the Seattle Outdoor Theatre Festival with a few friends and saw friends perform in Twelfth Night and GreenStage's King John.
Jul 13 - Saw The Proposal with Tony only for him to get food poisoning right afterward and spend the rest of the evening vomiting.
Jul 15 - Began Romeo and Juliet auditions with the June 23rd Movement, a guerrilla theatre troupe created recently by friends Beverly and Mike. Did a round-robin read-through of the script.
Jul 17 - Cast as the Nurse and Gregory in Romeo and Juliet.
Jul 20 - Accosted and harassed by a drunken man while waiting at the bus stop near Tony's house. Tony is assaulted and files a statement. The man is picked up by the police on domestic charges.
Aug 01 - Went to my first Nova drinking party. Well, two--Michael's in Woodland Park, then Bob's at his father's castle. Ian drinks for the first time and I drink with Tony for the first time.
Aug 02 - Get grounded for lying about where I was the night before (while drunk on her wine without her knowledge). Mother finds out my SI habit has started up again.
Aug 06 - Tony's parents throw him a miniature surprise party, complete with presents and tiramisu.
Aug 21 - Tony's parents throw him a real surprise party, and I play a key role in convincing him to stay away from his house for several hours, then go back to it to find nearly all his closest friends pop out to surprise him after his parents sit him down for a chat since they "received a serious phone call" from my mother.
Aug 22 - Confessed my fears about possibly being pregnant to Tony.
Aug 29 - First attempt at a dress rehearsal for Romeo and Juliet goes sour and ends in a mild actor take-over.
Sep 01 - Turn out not to be pregnant. Relief sweeps over me like a tidal wave.
Sep 03 - Chandra hosts a Passion Party.
Sep 09 - First day of my senior year.
Sep 14 - Class sign-ups. I don't get priority sign-ups because I don't plan to graduate this year, but still somehow manage to get into all my desired classes.
Sep 15 - First day of classes.
Sep 18 - Bob's birthday party at Discovery Park, then at his mother's house. Am among a handful invited and an even smaller group allowed to spend the night. Have pot cookies, smoke too many bowls, get drunk, get quite a buzz on peach shisha, and have one of the best trips I've ever had. Takes days to fully come down from the high.
Oct 16 - Diagnosed with the swine flu after being out of school the entire week. Can't do much for Tony and my fifth anniversary.
Oct 23 - Diagnosed with mono after spending yet another week out of school in further misery, unable to eat anything but rice pudding, sides aching from a huge shot of penicillin in one hip and steroids (to reduce the ridiculous swelling of my tonsils and help me to actually breathe) in the other, going to the doctor's office nearly every day to further confound them with my mysterious illness. Am put on codeine for the pain, which is absolutely terrible.
Oct 31 - Grandpa Loren falls and breaks his hip, then suffers a stroke that leads to a grand mal seizure and leaves him in on a ventilator. I have a four-hour conversation with Jenny that reveals that we both suffer from dissociation and derealization, and gives us much better insight into one another and our father, who finally contacted her again after spending the past month suffering depression. I finally decide to get his phone number from Jenny.
Nov 02 - Father flies to Des Moines after his flight to Minnesota the previous day is canceled, arriving that afternoon.
Nov 03 - After suffering a never-ending string of panic attacks ranging from acute to severe in the past week, I faint twice after heart rate increases severely from a cigarette, the second time smacking my head into the bleachers and suffering a concussion and whiplash. Ever the concerned boyfriend, Tony acts within the instant, sweeping me up off the street and helping me into school, where I spend the next several hours in a daze under his supervision before going home around noon, to continue life in another dimension, this time unfortunately in unneeded solitude. Discover that mono can increase one's heart rate and cause anxiety and panic attacks, all of which I suffered rather severely before this, now chronically.
Nov 04 - See my therapist and doctor about all my current problems. Am told by the therapist that the derealization brought on by the panic attack on oxycodone could take a long time to fade away, or that I might need to learn to live with it. Tested for heart problems and anemia, and both tests show nothing; the doctor suggests all my health problems are being caused by the anxiety and depression. Am put on Vistaril as needed for anxiety. Begin to accept that my mind is adapting to its new environs by triggering a new stage in my mental development, and take my true first step to helping myself and accepting what I am becoming.
Nov 05 - Speak to my father over the telephone for the first time since he left the "final" time when I was seven or eight.
Nov 06 - Have quite the adventure, running around a flooded Seattle in the icy rain, trying to get to a party that Bob throws just for me, because of how lonely I've been. Have another weed-induced panic attack, but manage to deal with it calmly, and with Eric, Tony, and all the guys looking out for me as if I were one of the guys myself.
Nov 07 - Leave Bob's mother's at seven in the morning to go over to Tony's, where we spend the morning being silly in their living room, Tony hung over and the both of us rather out of it, before heading downtown to eat at P.F. Chang's. I head home at one, having managed to keep myself from passing out from my circulation problems for two days in a row (except when Tony and I finally crashed at Bob's Friday night).
Nov 09 - Grandpa Loren passes away at 86.
Nov 11 - Feedback session with Andrea. Am shown the results of the evaluation forms my mother and I filled out and our conversations in the past weeks and am diagnosed with anxiety and major depression.
Nov 12 - Grandpa Loren's funeral is held.
Nov 16 - Tony and I reach our six-month anniversary. He surprises me with a card and a piece of jewelry, a necklace with an artistic metal heart pendant, and we spend the afternoon running around in the pouring rain trying to figure out what to do with his $2, but we eventually go to eat at the Mongolian Grill in the U District on a whim.
Nov 18 - First session with Andrea.
Nov 26 - Joined Tony's family for their Thanksgiving gathering.
Nov 27 - Went present-shopping with Tony and Chiara; only bought a bag for Chandra and a hat for Tony, as well as a calendar and a bag for myself, but decided on presents for most everyone in my life. Was given early Christmas presents by Tony and Chiara: from Chiara, a beautiful black wool coat; from Tony, Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. Attended Mike's 20th birthday party and fire-spinning light-up at Chandra's and spent the night.
Dec 8 - Finally meet with a psychiatrist, Dr. Levy. He tells me to watch my behavior when I'm drinking and my drinking in general, to regulate my sleeping patterns, and to try Prozac in January. He suggests that the shit that has gone down since August may all be due to the birth control, and I decide to stop taking it and see where I am in a few months.
Dec 18 - Angus gives me his e-mail address and phone number, and invites me to see a film at his house he thinks I need to see and tells me he has another book for me to read. Double-date with Alex and Angeline. We go ice skating, which I have a miserable time doing since I haven't been ice skating since I was about seven, and decide on a whim to see Avatar in 3D, not returning to Tony's house until 2:30 in the morning.
Dec 20 - Go to Tony's house, then downtown to the comic and scifi shop in Pike Place to buy a Shakespeare action figure for Beverly, then attend Beverly's Alice in Wonderland-themed birthday tea party. Walk to Bob's house from 85th and 15th (longest walk of all time), where I meet two of Tony's friends from Legacies and get completely faded with the gang. Bring up my feelings for Angus with Tony, and over the course of the night we decide that maybe a polyamorous relationship would work best for the two of us and decide on exploring our feelings for Angus and Carissa respectively.
Dec 21 - Tony tells me he's decided he's uncomfortable with the idea of "sharing" me, thinks he might get jealous, but that he's alright with me hanging out with Angus, just not with our relationship expanding into polyamoury (despite all he'd said the night before). I tell him I'd be okay with him exploring his feelings for Carissa despite this, if it would make him feel "complete." He tells me he's only attracted to her and nothing more. Leave Bob's at three in the afternoon and make our way over to Tony's house, where I spend the night.
Dec 22 - Drunk on rum, I call Angus to tell him I'd like to accept his offer to see a film at his house. He tells me he'll call me and make plans when he returns from San Francisco on the 28th.
Dec 23 - Finally do my Christmas shopping and present-wrapping for Tony, Chiara, and my mother. Read and purchase my first comic and buy Tony a stack.
Dec 24 - Spend Christmas Eve with my mother. We have turkey, oyster stuffing, and cranberry sauce to make up for not having a Thanksgiving dinner and unwrap our presents for one another. I give my mother a new Bodum coffee press (all I could afford) and receive Amélie, The Road Warrior, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, 300, the complete series of the original Battlestar Galactica (an accident; she intended to buy me the remake, and insists upon exchanging it), the 2008 Doctor Who Christmas special "The Next Doctor," 3:10 to Yuma, a little Christmas bear, a hardcover copy of The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger (my favorite novel and all I really wanted), Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie, German spice cookies, French truffles, white chocolate Lindor truffles, and a tin of butter cookies. I feel spoiled.
Dec 25 - Take the bus to Tony's house early in the morning and am beyond surprised to find how many presents he and his family have sitting under the tree and stuffed into a stocking for me, including a leatherbound journal, a sushi-making kit and recipe book, Assassin's Creed 2 (I think I screamed when I opened this), lots of little candies, hotel-sized bottles of all-natural lotions and soaps, a pretty stationary set called "Pink Tea," socks (a bit of an inside joke), and other little trinkets. Attend their Christmas family gathering and am greeted more than warmly and fully treated like a member of the family. I insist upon not drinking, not wanting to make anyone uncomfortable, but have a mug of champagne (they ran out of glasses) shoved into my hand within the hour and am drunk and laughing at the counter with Tony, his cousins, and his aunt Lianna, whose house the party is at and who really wanted to get me drunk for some reason, before I know it. Have so much fun and receive even more presents from Tony's family--a brown sweater from Banana Republic from Suniva and a tin of make-up from Avon and ruby earrings from Cal and Yvette--and have a bag of presents to take home to my mother. Spend the next few days and nights at Tony's house.
Dec 27 - Get a library card at the library near Tony's and pick up the first few volumes in the Fables series as Tony and I wander around Ballard central, where Chiara insists on buying me a pair of warm socks to keep at their house. See Sherlock Holmes with Tony and have a great time. Tony helps with carrying all my new presents back to my house, where we order pizza, I get drunk on rum (which I now do every afternoon and night at my house), and we sleep in the living room.
Dec 28 - Spend the day with Tony wandering around Pike Place Market and enjoying a nice walk (and chase) through Ballard and the park on our way to his house.
Dec 31 - Spend New Years' Eve drinking the last of our egg nog, playing Assassin's Creed 2, eating butter cookies, and considering with what mindset I'm going to enter the new year as fireworks burst outside in the frosty winter night.
